Photograph inscribed and signed: "For Kim/Best wishes from/Chas. Buddy Rogers". B/w, 8x10. Buddy Rogers (1904-1999) was a bandleader who could play every instrument in the band, and who also handled most of his group's vocals. Also an actor, Rogers had his best year on screen early in his career (1927), when he co-starred in Wings, winner of the first Best Picture Oscar, and appeared for the first time in a film with future spouse Mary Pickford. Marrying Pickford a decade later (1937), the affable Rogers gradually became the public voice for the increasingly reclusive Pickford until her death in 1979. Fine condition.
