Autograph Letter signed: "Charles Busch", 1 page, 8½x11. No
place, 1992 December 21. Written to "Dear Richard" in full:
"Thank you for your lovely letter. It's a terrific Christmas present to know
that you've followed my career so closely- I really do appreciate it. I'm out of
8x10 photos of me in costume so I've enclosed an 8x10 of me as myself [Not
included] and a 5x7 in drag [Not included] - Hope you liked them -
Best wishes for the coming year" American writer and actor Charles Busch
was born on August 23, 1954 in New York City, New York. Early in his career
he wrote and appeared in stage performances, often dressed in drag as the
leading lady. Two of his plays had successful runs on Broadway The Tale of
the Allergist's Wife (2000-2002) and Taboo (2003-2004). Later in
his career he wrote for and appeared in several films and television series. His
writing credits include Psycho Beach Party (2000) and Die, Momma,
Die! (2003). Busch played the character Nat Ginzburg on the HBO series
Oz (1999-2000) and also appeared in Psycho Beach Party (2000),
One Life to Live (2001), Frasier (2002) and Die, Momma,
Die! (2003). In 2001, he was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Play for
The Tale of the Allergist's Wife.
