Contract Double Signed: “Charles Farrell” to set the agreement in place, and“C.F.”, to denote that the contract is for one year, not three. One page. 8½x11. Dated May 9, 1952. This sheet is actually a rider to an existing contract made previously. Born in Dublin, Stage, movie and television actor Charles Farrell (1900-1988), made childhood appearances in British silent films as early as 1906! By appearing in a series of televised BBC plays between 1936-1939, Farrell became one of the first actors to appear on plays broadcast on television. He was part of over 100 film and play productions as actor or director. A founding member of the trade union the British Actors Equity (1930), he served as treasurer and later trustee of that organization. Throughout his life, he also broadcasted fairy tales on the BBC radio show Children's Hour. Notable film appearances include roles in Night and the City (1950) and The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971). Hole punches at top edge. Typed lettering faded in some places but still legible. Otherwise, fine condition.
