Photograph signed inscribed and signed: "To Elinor Genthner/Very Sincerely/Charles Hackett". Sepia, 8x10. American tenor Charles Hackett (1889-1942) performed on opera and concert stages worldwide. He made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Almaviva in The Barber of Seville in 1919. From 1923 to 1934, he sang with the Lyric Opera of Chicago. Hackett married Italian ballerina Virginia Zucchi, with Enrico Caruso as his best man. Toned. Minor ink smear (legible). Corners lightly worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
