Signature: "Richmond & Gordon", 3½x1½, affixed to a 6x5
sheet with printed biographic clippings. Charles Henry Gordon-Lennox
(1845-1928) became the Earl of March in 1860, when his father
inherited the ducal title. He succeeded his father in 1903 as the 7th
Duke of Richmond. He was also the second Duke of Gordon. He served in the
House of Commons from 1871 to 1889, and commanded the Sussex Militia in the 2nd
Boer War (1901-1902). King Edward VII bestowed on him England's highest
chivalric honor, Knight of the Order of the Garter (1904). Irregularly
cut. Slightly toned. Corners lightly worn. Fine condition.
