He inscribes his book Around the World in 45 Years, to a fan
Inscribed Book Signed: "For Jim -/Every best wish,/Charles M./Schulz" on the first flyleaf, 196p, 8½x10¾, soft cover. His book, Around the World in 45 Years, Andrews & McMeel, Kansas City: 1996.Subtitled: "Charlie Brown's Anniversary Celebration". Charles M. Schulz (1922-2000), a freelance cartoonist with "The Saturday Evening Post" (1948-1949), originally titled his single-panel cartoon about life's funny happenings "Li'l Folks". It debuted as a panel strip on October 2, 1950 as "Peanuts", a name Schulz disliked. Each strip was personally drawn, written, inked and lettered by "Sparky" Schulz, who created the strips in his office at One Snoopy Place and drank coffee at the Warm Puppy snack Bar. He died on February 12, 2000, the evening before his last "Peanuts" strip appeared in the Sunday editions of newspapers. Before Schulz's death, the strip was reproduced in a number of popular books, and his loveable characters were also seen on television and in feature films as well as on a wide variety of licensed "Peanuts" products. Schulz' award-winning work - he was Cartoonist of the Year in 1955 and again in 1965 - is still syndicated as "Classic Peanuts". Cover lightly creased, signature page creased at lower right blank corner. Internally sound. Fine condition.
