Autograph Note signed: "Dear Davidge/Yours very truly/Chas. M.
Walcot", 4¼x2. In a stage career of more than 60 years, Charles M.
Walcot, Jr. (1844-1921) made at least 17 Broadway appearances, beginning
at a tender age in a musical revue, The Wags of Windsor (1853), and
concluding with Trelawney of the Wells (1911), playing the same role
he had initiated in the play's debut of 1898. Walcot was the son and namesake
of well-known actor and playwright Charles William Walcot, and the
husband of Isabella Nickinson, a distinguished actress, billed as Mrs.
Charles M. Walcot. Minimally toned. Top right corner torn. Frayed at top
edge and left edge. Minor unknown residue at verso (no show-through). Otherwise,
fine condition.
