CHARLES MARTIN SMITH
Shown in his youth in a still from the 1974 western The Spikes Gang
Photograph signed: "Charles Martin/Smith". B/w, 10x8. Movie still from The Spikes Gang (1974). Captioned in lower margin. Charles Martin Smith (b.1953) will still be remembered by many as Terry "the Toad" Fields in the cult classic, American Graffiti (1973). Among the other films featuring him prominently were Cotton Candy, The Buddy Holly Story and The Untouchables. While making dozens of TV series guest spots, he has turned his attention to directing since the 1990s, mostly for television. Smith devoted nearly three years of his life to Never Cry Wolf, writing script as well as acting in the true story of a scientist living alone in the Canadian tundra to study wolf behavior. Corners creased. Lightly bowed. Signature in adequate contrast (legible). Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
