Autograph Note Signed: "To L D Scerri/from/C P Snow/Nov 4/70" in blue ink. 3x1½ card.
Snow, (1905-1980) was a British novelist, physicist and scientific advisor to the British
government. Snow is probably best remembered for two literary works. The first is Strangers
and Brothers, an 11-novel series published between 1940 and 1970 that analyzes
bureaucracy and the corrupting influence of power. The other is The Two Cultures and
the Scientific Revolution (1959), in which Snow identified a possibly uncrossable gulf
between literary and scientific people. He wrote a sequel in 1964 called Second Look. Snow
held several positions in the British government, including technical director to the Ministry of
Labor during World War II (1940-1944). He was knighted and made Baron Snow in 1957.
Lightly toned, soiled and creased. Paper clip impression in upper left corner. Otherwise, fine
