Tim Burton directed, and Johnny Depp starred as Willie Wonka, in this version of the Roald Dahl children's classic. Emerging as a teen heart throb on TV's 21 Jump Street (1997), actor Johnny Depp (born in 1963) has gone on to film stardom in a wide variety of roles. His film credits include Platoon (1986), Edward Scissorhands (1990), What's Eating Gilbert Grape? (1993), Benny & Joon (1993), Ed Wood (1994), Donnie Brasco (1997), Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998), Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003, Best Actor Academy Award nomination), The Libertine (2004), Finding Neverland (2004, Best Actor Oscar nomination) and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005). He has starred as Captain Jack Sparrow in the Pirates of the Caribbean films, beginning in 2006, played the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland (2010), and portrays Tonto in the new version of the classic Western The Lone Ranger (2012). Tim Burton (born August 25, 1958) began his film career as a Disney animator, but the collaboration didn't work out. "I couldn't draw cute foxes for the life of me," Burton acknowledged. He reached stardom as a director who could make unconventional films which appealed to mainstream audiences. His credits include Pee Wee's Big Adventure (1985), Beetlejuice (1988), Batman (1989) and The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993). Burton has used Depp as a star several times: in Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood (1994) and Sleepy Hollow (1997). Fine condition.
