CHARLIE BATCH
Pittsburgh's own Charlie Batch signs a printed card the Steelers.
Printed card signed in ink: "Charlie Batch", in black felt tip, 5x3 card. Quarterback Charlie Batch (b. 1974) spent most of his career as a backup quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Drafted out of Eastern Michigan in 1998 by the Lions, Batch's Steel City career began in 2002 and ended in 2012. With Big Ben Roethlisberger as starting quarterback, Batch rarely saw any playing time, but his support from fans as a Pittsburgh native kept him a permanent fixture on the squad. Batch, though typically a third string quarterback, proved his worth on several occasions when he was called in to save the day for the injury-prone Roethlisberger. One of his greatest efforts came in 2012 when he led the struggling Steelers in a must-win 23-20 victory over rivals the Baltimore Ravens. That day, he was considered a Steel City hero, and for his efforts he was awarded the 2012 "Whizzer" White NFL Man of the Year Award. To the dismay of all Pittsburgh fans, Batch announced his retirement in 2013. A popular voice for Steeler football, he now commentates for KDKA-TV. The Pittsburgh Steelers have dominated the NFL in Super Bowl titles since the Chuck Noll era of the 1970s. Coach Bill Cowher helped extend Pittsburg's leading franchise record with winning Super Bowl XL in 2005. The Steelers current coach, Mike Tomlin, has carried on the torch with Big Ben Roethlisberger, winning his first Super Bowl in 2009. Tomlin became the youngest coach in the NFL to win a Super Bowl that season. Stars of the legendary Steeler team include NFL greats Terry Bradshaw, Mean Joe Greene, Jerome "The Bus" Bettis and football's most iconic safety Troy Polamalu. In recent years, Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown has made a name for himself as one of the leading receivers in both league and franchise history. Fine condition.
