The Nun's Curse." English author Charlotte Eliza Riddell
(1860-1906), born Charlotte Eliza Lawson Cowan, wrote Victorian ghost novels
and short stories. Her novels included The Haunted House of Latchford
(1872) and The Nun's Curse (1888). She remains popular. Her Collected
Ghost Stories was re-issued in 1977, and she is featured in many
anthologies, including Gaslit Nightmares (1988). With her husband, Joseph
H. Riddell, she was co-owner and co-editor of the prestigious St James's
Magazine. Creased. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
