In full: "Answering your letter of January 7th, I take pleasure in enclosing an autographed photograph taken on my ninety-first birthday. [Item not included.] With all best wishes, Sincerely yours". Chauncey Mitchell Depew (1834-1928) was an attorney for the Vanderbilt railroad interests and President (1885-1899) and Chairman of the Board (1899-1928) of the New York Central Railroad. From 1899-1911, he served as U.S. Senator from New York. Normal mailing folds. Toned and soiled. Edges chipped at fold creases. Creased and worn at corners.
