Typed letter signed: "Chauncey M. Depew", in black ink, 1 page, 6½x7. January 23, 1904. Washington D.C. In full: "My dear Miss Teepell - I think your suggestions regarding an official program for the St. Louis Exposition are admirable, and that such a publication on those lines would be of much interest and value. Yours very truly". Chauncey M. Depew (1834-1928) was an attorney for the Vanderbilt railroad interests and President (1885-1899) and Chairman of the Board (1899-1928) of the New York Central Railroad. From 1899-1911, he served as U.S. Senator from New York. Right margin heavily creased and folded. Heavily toned. Small hole in top left corner. Surface creases. Multiple folds. Otherwise, fine condition.
