Tape not included. Cheech and Chong's Next Moviewas the
first of many sequels to Up in Smoke, Cheech & Chong's ultra-cheap
hit of 1978. Together, comedians Richard "Cheech" Marin (born in Los
Angeles, California in 1946) and Tommy Chong (born in Edmonton, Alberta,
Canada in 1938) comprised one of the most popular comedy acts of the early to
mid-1970s. Their subversive, drug-oriented and often scatological routines
were particularly popular among young people and hippies. In 1978, Cheech and
Chong made their feature-film debut in Up in Smoke, a comedy centered
around their inane banter, the quest for good marijuana and careers as rock
musicians. Their low-brow but funny antics were a hit and the film became
that year's highest-grossing movie, and subsequently launched a short-lived
series of similar films. Box comes disassembled and flattened. Lightly
toned and creased. Chong's signature is lightly smudged, but legible. Marin's
signature touches left edge. Light scratches (not visible head-on) and
impressions. Otherwise in fine condition.
