The show began during the presidential nominating conventions of 1956. It won eight Emmy Awards and made the pair just as recognizable as stars such as John Wayne and The Beatles. Cutting between Huntley in New York and Brinkley in Washington D.C., the news program set new standards in television journalism. It was initially just 15 minutes long, but it later expanded to 30 minutes. Huntley retired to his native Montana in 1970. After he retired from broadcasting, he built the Big Sky Resort in his home state of Montana. ARTHUR MANELLA (1917-1997) was an attorney who represented many notable celebrities and entertainers. He was the co-founder of Irell & Manella, a firm which primarily handled the tax problems of the Hollywood elite. In addition to growing his firm, Manella helped establish the USC Tax Institute. Cancellation holes. Ink stamp on verso. Three faint creases. Ink smudging on front, not affecting legibility. Otherwise, fine condition.
