I appreciate your thinking of me and send along my best regards for a joyous and safe holiday season and 1989. Sincerely." Hecht has signed again after his handwritten postscript: "Happy Holidays". Banker and businessman JACOB CHIC HECHT (1928-2006) represented Nevada in the Senate as a Republican for one term (1983-1989). When he wrote this letter, Hecht had just lost his bid for re-election. He went on to serve as U.S. Ambassador to the Bahamas (1989-1993). DIRECTLY FROM THE SALE OF THE ESTATE OF DANIEL PATRICK MOYNIHAN. Moynihan (1927-2003) represented New York in the U.S. Senate as a Democrat for four terms (1977-2001). A prolific author, he served in the administrations of four Presidents: Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon and Ford. Ink note (unknown hand) in upper right. Number stamp in left margin.
