CHIEF WHITE OWL and JOHNNY POWERS
Signature from the wrestler as Chief White Owl, endorsing a signed check from Johnny Powers for $75.00
Paycheck endorsed: "Chief White Owl", 8¼x3. Also signed by "John Powers". Cleveland, Ohio, 1972 June 30. Check no. 438, drawn on the account of Ameri-Can Wrestling Club at the National City Bank of Cleveland, payable to Chief White Owl for $75.00. George Dahmer (b. 1935) wrestled professionally as CHIEF WHITE OWL for a quarter century (1958-1983). He was part of a popular tag team with another "Indian", Chief Kit Fox. On the day this check was signed, Chief White Owl defeated Christopher Colt III at the Cleveland arena. JOHNNY POWERS, himself a former and future NWF champion (1970, 1973) became a popular announcer, hosting TV's "Championship Wrestling with John Powers." Powers, who dyed his hair blonde to fight as "the Golden Adonis", went on to become a major wrestling promoter and owner of a wrestling school. Light vertical folds. Lightly soiled along right vertical fold, which crosses "P" of Powers signature. Bank stamp on verso touches "e O" of Chief White Owl. Otherwise, fine condition.
