CHRIS DE BURGH
The singer-songwriter responsible for the number one single "The Lady in Red" signs this 4x5¾ photograph of himself posed.
Photograph Signed: "Chris de Burgh", B/w 4x5¾. Silver facsimile signature printed near bottom edge, captioned on verso. Chris de Burgh (b. 1948), born Christopher John Davison in Argentina, is a singer-songwriter who began his performing career at a young age - performing for guests at his family's hotel. In 1974, de Burgh signed his first contract, with A&M Records. Eventually, in 1975, he released his debut album Far Beyond These Castle Walls, which has been described as a "folk-tinged stab at fantasy in the tradition of the Moody Blues". Most of his albums failed to sell well in the United States and the United Kingdom, however they sold very well in South American countries as well as Continental European countries. De Burgh is most well known for his popular love song "The Lady in Red" (1986), which topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Belgium, and Norway. After a thirty year career with A&M Records, de Burgh started his own label: Ferryman Productions. He made two short film appearances an actor: one in the 1981 television movie Liederzirkus, and another appearance in the 1997 film How to Cheat in the Living Certificate. However, his music can be heard in a variety of onscreen productions. Ink residue on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
