Signed color movie still of the lemurs from Madagascar. Rock voiced the zebra Marty in this CGI cartoon.
Photograph signed "Chris Rock" in blue ink. Color, 9¾x7¾. Color movie still from Madagascar (2005), in which Rock started as the voice of Marty the zebra. Rock, born Christopher Julius Rock III in Andrews, South Carolina in 1965, is an American comedian and actor. Rock got his start in stand-up comedy. In 1984, he played the New York Comedy Strip and was seen by Eddie Murphy, who gave him a bit role as a parking valet in Beverly Hills Cop II (1987). It was Rock's first film role, and he eventually parlayed this and other small roles into a spot on Saturday Night Live (1990-1993), as well as occasional guest star appearances on the edgier In Living Color (1993-1994). Rock's wisecracking screen persona and insightful, if sulfurous, humor has gotten him steady work on TV and film, including the role of Rufus the forgotten apostle in Kevin Smith's Dogma (1999), and earned him numerous Emmy nominations, including a 1997 writing nod for Bill Maher's Politically Incorrect. He's won or shared two Emmys for his 1996 stand-up performance Bring the Pain and shared another for writing on his short-lived talk show The Chris Rock Show. Fine condition.
