Picture postcard signed: "Chris/Marquand" in black ink. B/w, 3½x5½. Marquand (1927-2000, born in Marseille, France) was a French actor with over 60 movies and TV shows to his credit. Marquand acted primarily in French and Italian-language films, most notably in Senso (1954), Et Dieu... créa la femme (1956, released in the United States as And God Created Woman) and La Récréation (1961, released in the United States as Playtime). Marquand also had roles in Hollywood movies like Behold a Pale Horse (1964), Lord Jim (1965) and Flight of the Phoenix (1965). One of his last Hollywood movies was in Francis Ford Coppola's epic Apocalypse Now (1979). Marquand's scenes, on a French rubber plantation, were cut due to time constraints, but were restored a year after his death in the DVD release of Apocalypse Now Redux. Edges are scalloped. Lightly worn at edges and corners. Otherwise, fine condition.
