Sanders, KWGG Broadcasting Company, Enka, North Carolina. In full: "Dear Mr. Sanders: Thank you for your letter of understanding and encouragement. I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts with me. My deepest hope is that people such yourself will now become involved. I believe the only way to solve the problem of child abuse is by taking responsibility in our own families, neighborhoods and communities. As difficult as I know it is, I hope each of us will now have the courage to speak out a little more on behalf of ourselves and those children of today who need help. Normal postal stamps. Flap was neatly torn open, with tear in flap and paper loss on verso of envelope (no show-through on front). Otherwise in fine condition. Actress Christina Crawford, born in Los Angeles, California in 1939, the adopted daughter of actress Joan Crawford, wrote about the abuse she suffered at the hands of the film star in her 1978 book, Mommie Dearest, which spent 42 weeks on the bestseller list and was made into a film in 1981.
