They sign opposite sides of a calendar sheet, each with a magazine photo attached.
Signatures: "Christl Mardyan/Juni [June] 55", 4½x3¼. B/w magazine photo affixed in lower left (2 surfaces). And on verso: "Auguste/Punkosdy/10.I.55". B/w magazine photo affixed in upper right (2 surfaces). Austrian singer, dancer and actress CHRISTL MARDAYN (1896-1971) made her debut on the Viennese stage in 1920. Beginning in opera, where she performed works ranging from Mozart's The Marriage of Figaro to Wagner's The Valkyrie, she moved on to operettas, and then to speaking roles in stage dramas by Shaw and Moliere. She made a few films in the 1930s with her husband, Hans Thimig, including the film operetta The White Horse (1936). She received Austria's Gold Medal for Merit in 1957. AUGUSTE PUNKOSDY (1890-1967), also an Austrian actress, appeared in a few silent films, including Alkohol (1920), and more frequently in talking films of the 1930s and forties, including The Stationmaster (1940). Lightly frayed at top edge. Lightly creased. Ink and pencil notes (not affecting signatures). Otherwise, fine condition.
