CHRISTOPHER DODD - TYPED LETTER SIGNED 10/11/1988 - HFSID 265947
Price: $90.00
CHRISTOPHER DODD. Autograph Letter signed twice:
"Chris" as U.S. Senator, 1p, 6¼x8½. On personal Senate letterhead.
Washington, D.C., 1988 October 11. To "Dear Pat" [Senator
Daniel Patrick Moynihan]. In full: "This is just a short note to
express my deepest appreciation for your support during the cloture vote last
Friday on the children and families package. We knew all along that passage of
the Parental and Medical Leave Act and the Act for Better Child Care Services
was going to be an uphill battle. But given the importance of these issues to
working men and women and their families, I believe this effort was extremely
worthwhile. We may have lost this year's battle, but this is a war we can and
will win in the future. With your support, it is only a matter of time before we
put in place child care and parental leave legislation that will not only
benefit the American family but the business community and the nation as well. I
look forward to working with you in the future to achieve this timely and
important goal. Thank you again for your support. Sincerely," With a
postscript handwritten and signed by Dodd: "Pat - Thanks for your help.
Chris".Dodd, a veteran of both the Peace Corps (two years in the
