Publicity photo for The Fall of the Roman Empire (1964), with publicity information printed and affixed on verso. Canadian actor Plummer, born Arthur Christopher Orme Plummer in 1927, perhaps best known to American audiences as Captain von Trapp in The Sound of Music (1965) and to Trekkers as the villainous Klingon General Chang in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), is a versatile stage and screen performer with a long and illustrious career. On Broadway, he earned Tony Awards for Best Actor in a Musical (Cyrano, 1974) and Best Featured Actor (Barrymore, 1997). In 2007, he notched yet another Tony nomination for his role in Inherit the Wind, and in 2009 he got a nod from the Academy Awards for his portrayal of Leo Tolstoy in The Last Station. Plummer has won two Emmy Awards for Arthur Hailey's The Moneychangers (1977) and Madeline (1993). Also known for his Shakespearean roles on Broadway and TV, Plummer is the father of actress Amanda Plummer. Lightly toned and creased. Negative and reproduction errors in image.
