CISSY HOUSTON. Autograph Letter signed: "Cissy Houston", 2p (front and verso),
7x10½. No place, 1991 November 30. On personal letterhead to "Mr Alan Fox". In full: "I
received your letter & I'm sorry my reply was not sooner, but I have been out of town.
First, I commend you on the work that are obviously doing with our youth. You see our
youth need positive role models. You ask can we ever learn to live in peace. I believe
peace abides within. And the only way you can have peace within is to KNOW GOD & his
WORD. For He said if my people would humble themselves & pray then shall they hear
from heaven. Then He would heal the land. He also says love one another as I have loved
you. He didn't say Black, white or otherwise. If we can learn to love ourselves as well as
one another and of course God Our Father then we can spread the love that we so
desperately need. May God Bless you & your work. And my you continue to try & save
our children. Sincerely". Mailing folds. Slightly soiled at top edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
