Signature: "Claude S. Brinegar/Secertary of Transportation", 3½x2 card. A former oil company executive, Claude Stout Brinegar (1926-2009) served as the third U.S. Secretary of Transportation under Presidents Nixon and Ford (1973-1975). In the position during the energy crisis of 1973, Brinegar resigned to become an executive at the Union Oil Company after Ford announced that he was running for the presidency in his own right. Brinegar was later a member of Ronald Reagan's transition team (1980-1981). Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
