page, 6x4½. Claude Gillingwater (1870-1939) was an American stage and
screen actor. After studying law, he decided to become a traveling salesman
and unintentionally fell in with a small theatrical company, putting him in the
pathway of Hollywood studio boss/actress Mary Pickford, who secured him for her
film Little Lord Fauntleroy (1921), the first of over ninety film
roles he would have. His other film credits include Three Wise Fools
(1923), 45 Minutes from Hollywood (1926), City
Limits (1934), A Tale of Two Cities (1935), and
Little Miss Broadway (1938). From the album collection of child
actor BILLY SEAY (1922-2012), who appeared in many films throughout the
decade including The Greater Glory (1926), My Man
(1928), and The Marriage Playground (1929). Seay would leave
Hollywood in the early 1930s to become a noted artist and illustrator. Toned.
Small stains throughout. Creased throughout. Binding holes in left margin.
