CLETE BOYER Full-length color photo of Clete Boyer in a Yankees uniform and fielding a ball at second base signed in blue ink Photograph signed: "Clete Boyer". Color, 8x10. With Major League Baseball logo in lower left corner. Clete Boyer (1937-2007) was a third baseman for four different teams across two countries. He began his career with the Kansas City Athletics (1955-1956), but became famous as a member of the New York Yankees (1957-1966), winning two World Series titles with them in 1961 and 1962. He finished his career with the Taiyo Whales (1972-1975) in the Japanese Baseball League. Clete ranked as a top AL defensive third baseman during his eight years with the Yankees, overshadowed only by Baltimore's Brooks Robinson. When he homered in the seventh game of the 1964 WS two innings after his brother Ken had homered for the Cardinals, it marked the only time that brothers had connected for home runs in the same World Series game. Toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
