It was the first of over 120 hits, including 14 No. 1 songs, for Richard (who was originally backed by The Shadows) between 1958-1999. His biggest single was 1979's "We Don't Talk Anymore", which sold over five million copies worldwide. By 2006, Richard had sold some 250 million albums and he was the only artist to have No. 1 records in every decade from the 1950s to the 1990s. Britain's "answer to Elvis" also appeared in several feature films, beginning with Serious Charge (1959). His other credits include Expresso Bongo (1960), Wonderful Life (1964), Finders Keepers (1966) and Two a Penny (1967). Richard also appeared in the made-for-TV movie, Heathcliff, which was based on his book and stage play (1996-1997), and he made guest appearances on a long list of TV shows. Richard was created an O.B.E. in 1980 and knighted in 1995 for both his contributions to music and his charity work. Minor surface scratch (not evident head on) at cheek. Fine condition.
