Photograph signed: "Yours truly/Clifton Davis", in red ink. B/w, 8x10. Clifton Davis (b.1945) is an American musician, songwriter, actor and minister who has been active since 1966. Known for his starring roles on Amen (1986-1991) and That's My Mama (1974-1975), Davis is also the songwriter of number of The Jackson 5 signature hits, including "Never Can Say Goodbye" and "Lookin' Through the Windows." Also a stage performer, Davis appeared in 4 Broadway plays including Hello Dolly (1964-1970) and Two Gentleman of Verona (1971-1973). From 1999 to 2013, he hosted the ministry series Praise the Lord. He was also a popular celebrity guest panelist on a number of game shows like The New $25,000 Pyramid (1976-1991). Davis continues to appear in guest starring roles in television and miniseries, and recently he starred in the Toronto production of Aladdin as The Sultan, the father of Princess Jasmine.
