white photos affixed on verso (3 surfaces). Clyde Fitch
(1865-1909) was known for social satires and character studies
with realistic dialogue. He began by writing short stories for magazines
after graduating from Amherst College in 1886 and created his first significant
play - Beau Brummell, written for actor Richard Mansfield - in 1890. His
plays were popular in both the U. S. and Europe. He had almost 70 Broadway
credits between 1890 and 1938, with Beau Brummell featured in eight
Broadway productions between 1890 and 1916. His plays were adapted into
movies and TV shows over 30 times between 1913 and 1954. His most important
plays include The Climbers (1901), Captain Jinks of the Horse
Marines (1901), The Girl with the Green Eyes (1902), The Truth
(1907), and The City (1909). 1-inch diagonal tear at top edge. Lightly
