Signature: "Best/Wishes-/Colleen/Townsend ". 3¼x2½ white paper. Colleen Townsend (born 1928) began her film career with small parts in 1944 and was then groomed by 20th Century Fox to be a star, the subject of a Life magazine cover story in 1948. Her biggest film success came in 1950 in When Willie Comes Marching Home. That same year, she left Hollywood to attend the San Francisco Theological Seminary, her husband, Louis Evans also attended. Evans became the pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Hollywood which led to an association with Billy Graham. Townsend returned to films as Colleen Evans and appeared in two Billy Gram Evangelistic Association films, Oil Town, U.S.A. (1950) and Souls in Conflict (1955). After which, she concentrated on humanitarian works-becoming the first female chair of the Billy Graham Crusade (1986). Ink smudged at "B". Paper residue (previous mounting) on verso. Otherwise, fine condition.
