C. E. ANDERSON
Printed photo signed in ink, standing next to his plane, with printed biography on facing page
Printed Photograph signed in ink: "C E Anderson",10x8. Facing page contains a 7-paragraph printed summary of his military record. C. E. Anderson (b. 1922) earned triple ace status in the European Theater of World War II, shooting down 16 enemy planes in his P-51 Mustang while escorting bombers to their targets. After the war he became a test pilot, rising to Chief of Flight Test Operations at Edwards Air Force Base. He led an F-86 fighter squadron in Korea, and commanded the 355th Tactical Fighter Wing in Southeast Asia, flying bombing strikes against enemy supply lines. His many decorations include 5 Distinguished Flying Crosses. He retired as a colonel in 1972, but remains active as of 2010, appearing in June of that year on an air aces panel at the Museum of Flight in Seattle. Anderson's book, To Fly and Fight, Memoirs of a Triple Ace, was published in 2001. Fine condition.
