Ross (b.1948) was assigned to the Payload Operations Division at the
Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center as a payload officer/flight controller in
February 1979. Selected as an astronaut in May 1980, Ross logged over
1,393 hours in space, including 58 hours and 18 minutes on EVAs. His NASA
flight experience includes: Mission Specialist on STS 61-B
(Atlantis), November 16-December 3, 1985; STS-27
(Atlantis), December 2-6, 1988; STS-37 (Atlantis),
April 5-11, 1999; Payload Commander/Mission Specialist on STS-55
(Columbia), April 26-May 6, 1993; Mission Specialist on
STS-74 (Atlantis), the second Space Shuttle mission to dock
with the Russian Space Station, Mir, November 12-20, 1995; STS-88
(Endeavor), December 4-15, 1998, the first International Space
Station assembly mission; and, STS-110 (Atlantis), April 8-19,
2002. Ink slightly smudged at 2 letters of inscription. Fine
condition.
