Commemorative Envelope signed: "Mark N. Brown" in black ink, 6½x3¾. Commemorating SSV Wind Tunnel Testing at Ames Research Center, postmarked Moffett Field, California, August 24, 1978, 15-cent U.S. stamp affixed. Mark N. Brown was born on November 18, 1951 in Valaparaiso, Indiana. He received a bachelor degree in aeronautical and astronautical engineering from Purdue University in 1973 as well as a Master of Science degree in astronautical engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology in 1980. He was employed at the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center as an engineer in the Flight Activities Section. As an engineer he supported several STS flights and in 1985 became an astronaut, flying on mission's STS-28 in 1989 and STS-48 in 1991. His awards include the NASA Space Flight Medal, Senior Space Badge, Defense Superior Service Medal, Combat Readiness Medal and National Defense Medal. Overall, fine condition.
