The NASA astronaut and administrator signs an envelope with a space
shuttle cachet
Envelope signed: "Robert Cabana", 6½x3½. Un-mailed envelope
bearing an ink stamp cachet captioned: Space Shuttle/New Era. Robert Cabana
(b. 1949), a 1971 graduate of the US Naval Academy, was a Marine test pilot
before joining the astronaut corps in 1985. He flew four space shuttle
missions between 1990 and 1998, two as pilot and two as mission commander. The
final mission, aboard Endeavor, was the first assembly mission to the
International Space Station. After his space flights, Cabana has held
increasingly important positions in NASA, becoming Director of the Kennedy
Space Flight Center in October 2008. Edges lightly toned. Fine condition.
