COMES A HORSEMAN MOVIE CAST: JAMES CAAN and JANE FONDA
James Caan and Jane Fonda sign a black and white publicity photograph of a scene from their movie Comes A Horseman.
Photograph signed: "All the best/James Caan" and "Jane Fonda". B/w, 10x8. Movie still from the film Comes A Horseman, ©1978, United Artists Corp. An old man owns a ranch right next to the ranch of Ella (JANE FONDA). This is a source of two problems: he wants to gobble up most of the land around the two ranches and also wants Ella's ranch. War-veteran Frank (JAMES CAAN) enters Ella's life and helps her fight to save her land and her sanity. Actor JAMES CAAN (born in 1940) shot to fame thanks to a poignant performance in the 1970 television movie Brian's Song, in which he played the ill-fated Chicago Bears star Brian Piccolo; his turn as the similarly ill-fated Sonny Corleone in Coppola's 1972 masterpiece The Godfather solidified his stardom and earned him an Academy Award nomination. Some of Caan's other films include The Godfather, Part 2 (1974), Funny Lady (1975), Rollerball (1975), Thief (1981), Misery (1990) and Honeymoon in Vegas (1992). In 2003, Caan starred on the NBC television series, Las Vegas (off the air in 2007). The daughter of actor Henry Fonda, JANE FONDA (born in 1937) made her film debut in Tall Story in 1960, the year she was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Supporting or Featured Actress (Dramatic) for There Was a Little Girl. Her early film roles under the influence of French director Roger Vadim (her husband from 1965-1973) cultivated a sex kitten image, as in Barbarella (1968). Politically radicalized by the Vietnam War, Fonda earned the lasting enmity of many by a visit to North Vietnam at the height of the conflict. Her film career during the subsequent two decades was exceptional, however. Fonda won Best Actress Academy Awards for Klute (1971) and Coming Home (1978), and was nominated for Best Actress Oscars for They Shoot Horses, Don't They? (1969), Julia (1977), The China Syndrome (1979), On Golden Pond (1981; her only film appearance with her father) and The Morning After (1986). She also marketed a popular series of exercise videos. "Retiring" from acting in 1992, Fonda made a comeback in Monster-in-Law in 2005, the year her autobiography, My Life So Far, was released. In addition to Vadim (her first husband from 1965-1973) and Hayden, Fonda has also been married to media mogul Ted Turner (1991-2001). Fine condition.
