credit and publicity information printed on verso. Lind, born in 1930,
was a mission specialist on the Space Shuttle flight STS-51B (April 29 to
May 6, 1985). This flight was the first operational Spacelab mission and
included experiments in manufacturing, crystal growth, solar and planetary
atmospheric simulation and biological experiments on lab animals and humans.
Lind was part of NASA's fifth group of astronauts, which were selected in 1966
and was a backup pilot for Skylab 3 and 4 and helped to develop payloads for the
early Space Shuttle orbital flight test missions. He left NASA in 1986 and
became a professor at Utah State University. He is also active in the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lightly toned and creased, otherwise in fine
condition.
