Signature: "Conrad Nagel", 5x3 card. A stage actor since 1914,
Conrad Nagel (1897-1970, born in Keokuk, Iowa) made his film debut
in 1918 and became one of the top matinee idols of the silent screen. His
feature film credits include Little Women (1918), Quality Street
(1927), All That Heaven Allows (1956) and The Man Who Understood
Women (1959, his last film). He also hosted TV's The Silver Theatre
(1949) and Conrad Nagel Theatre (1955). One of the 36 founders of the
Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (and its President from
October 1931 to April 1933), Nagel received a special Academy Award for
his work on the Motion Picture Relief Fund in 1939. Fine
condition.
