CONSTANCE BENNETT
Constance Bennett signs a contract with William Morris Agency for them to represent her for one year.
Typed Document Signed: "Constance Bennett" as Artist, front and verso, 8½x14. No place, 1961 February 7. On letterhead of the William Morris Agency. Headed: "Exclusive Agency Contract". The actress employs the William Morris Agency as her agent for the period of February 7, 1961-February 6, 1962 at a commission of 10%. The contract was to be sent to the actress at her New York address. Also initialed: "CB" twice at changes marked on the first page. Also signed by a member of the William Morris Agency, Inc. as Agent beneath Bennett's signature. The sister of actresses Joan and Barbara Bennett, Constance Bennett (1905-1965) appeared in silent movies of the 1920s, then returned to films in the 1930s in fallen woman and light comedy roles. Before she signed this contract, Bennett, who made 57 films, including Topper (1937) and Paris Underground (which she also produced, 1945), had last appeared on film as herself in It Should Happen to You (1954). Five years later, she would later appear in her last film, the made-for-TV movie, Madame X (1966). Lightly creased. Lightly shaded at blank margins. Ink notes (unknown hand) on signature page, light show through of print. 2 file holes at upper blank margin. Overall, fine condition.
