In full: "May I wish you all the happiness in the world. I have met Mrs Macey many times and she is an intimate friend of many friends of mone,[sic] who adore her and admire her, not only for her beauty, but for her charming character. I hope the future will fulfill all your hopes. I think so often of the wonderful day you gave me, it will always be among my most precious memories. It was such a privilege to meet Mr. Roosevelt and he gives one such a sense of strength and protection, and I think that world's affairs are safe in his hands. Kindest wishes, Yours sincerely," Although she preferred the stage, British actress/director/playwright Constance Collier (1878-1955) appeared in films in both comic and dramatic roles, beginning with D. W. Griffith's Intolerance (1916). Her best remembered films include Stage Door (1937). Fold creases through "C" of Constance and Collier. Fine condition.
