Signature: "C Coquelin/12 Dec 1900/N.Y.", 5x3 piece of paper. Benoit-Constant Coquelin (1841-1909) played 44 major roles as star of Paris' Comedie Francaise. He also toured with his own company; and joined Sarah Bernhardt for a successful US tour in 1900. He made one short film: the duel scene from Cyrano de Bergerac, with sound on phonographic cylinder. He wrote several books of criticism and on acting techniques. Horizontal and vertical folds. Lightly toned at edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
