The Italian Ambassador and Consul General signs this typed letter declining an offer to
attend a private screening of the film Goldfinger
Typed letter signed: "Vittorio di Montezemolo" in black felt. 8½x11. October 8, 1964. Typed
on letterhead of the Consul General of Italy, New York. In full: "Dear Mr. Russhon; I wish to
thank you very much for your kind invitation to attend the private screening of "Goldfinger"
on Oct. 9th at the Time & Life Auditorium. I regret that due to a previous engagement I am
unable to accept your invitation. I hope that there will be another occasion to meet you. Best
regards, Sincerely yours". Vittorio C. di Montezemelo (b. 1917) was an Italian politician. He
joined the Foreign Service in 1948, appointed Console in Mendoza in 1953 and later sent to
Madrid in 1955. He served as the Italian Consulate General in New York from 1963 to
1967. He served as Ambassador in Caracas, Tel Aviv and in 1977 was appointed as
Ambassador to the Holy See. His career was concluded as Head of the Permanent Mission
of Italy to the United Nations in Gienvra 1979-1982. Lightly toned. Corners rounded.
