CORDELL HULL. Silhouette signed: "Cordell Hull", 3x5 card with 2x1 hand-cut, bust view silhouette affixed. Original silhouette by artist Betty Kaufman. Signed in pencil. HULL (1871-1955) represented Tennessee in the U.S. House of Representatives (1907-1921, 1921-31) and Senate (1931-1933) and sought the Democratic Presidential nomination three times. He was Secretary of State longer than anyone in U.S. history, from 1933-1944. He was awarded the 1945 Nobel Peace Prize for his peace efforts as Secretary of State. Hull was the chief architect of the U.S. Good Neighbor policy towards Latin America and began early in WWII to plan the postwar international organization that became the United Nations. Lightly soiled. Frayed at lower left edge, near but not touching signature. Overall, fine condition.
