Inscribed Photograph signed: "Have fun,/Frank-//Corey/Allen". B/w, 10x8. Corey Allen, died June 27, 2010 (just two days before his 76th birthday), outliving his longtime friend Dennis Hopper, the other surviving Rebel Without a Cause gang member, by less than a month. Allen starred in the Oscar-winning short A Time Out of War (1954), but reached fame when he challenged James Dean to a fatal game of "chicken" in Rebel without a Cause (1955). As an actor, Allen appeared in feature films (Darby's Rangers, 1958; Sweet Bird of Youth (1962) and in many episodes of classic TV series (Gunsmoke, Dragnet, Combat, Bonanza, etc.). He directed over 80 TV episodes and 20 made for TV movies, winning an Emmy for one of his Hill Street Blues episodes (1984). Other directing efforts included Dallas, Star Trek: the Next Generation and Murder, She Wrote (including the pilot). Fine condition.
