Griffith (1895-1979, born Corrine Mae Griffin in Texarkana, Texas) was one of the most popular and beautiful silent film stars, nicknamed "the Orchid Lady of the Screen." She got an Oscar nomination for The Divine Lady (1929). She made only two films in the sound era, one of them three decades later (Paradise Alley, 1962). She had a successful second career in real estate, wrote 11 books, one of which was made into a film (Papa's Delicate Condition) and was active in Republican politics. Married for 32 years to Washington Redskin's owner George Preston Marshall, she composed the team's popular fight song. Tack hole and slight edge loss to each corner. Lightly creased and soiled. Lightly silvered in darker areas. Otherwise in fine condition.
