Vanderbilt” on verso, as Vice President of the New York Central Railroad. Signed by a few others, including “F.W. Vanderbilt” and “Wm. K. Vanderbilt”, his brothers Frederick William (1856-1938)and William Kissam (1849-1920). Seven other unknown signers related to the New York Central Railroad. 12¼x8½ visible. Bond #49, $10,000 First Mortgage Bond due in 1932. Bond on a hinged frame so both front and verso are visible; original descriptive receipt on main frame behind hinged section. The wealthy Vanderbilt Family owned the New York Central Railroad and controlled several other railroad lines throughout the country. Cornelius Vanderbilt II was the grandson of family patriarch “Commodore” Cornelius Vanderbilt. Frame has minor scrapes along edge. Bond has regular banking holes and folds. Otherwise, fine condition. Framed in the Gallery of History style: 34¼x33½.
