Co. standing in his name and represented by Certificate No. 10." Cornelius Vanderbilt II was the eldest son of W.H. Vanderbilt and grandson of the Commodore.When his father died in 1885, he became head of the Vanderbilt family. Cornelius was President of the New York & Harlem Railroad from 1886 until his death. He served as Chairman of the Board of the New York Central and Hudson River and of the Michigan Central railroads. Circular cancellation holes touch "n" in signature, "C" and "V" also touched by printed stamp. Light stain and staple holes at upper left corner. Overall, fine condition.
