This signed 4x4½ newspaper photograph shows the hockey pro playing for the
Minnesota North Stars
Newspaper Photograph signed: "Craig Hartsburg" in blue felt tip, b/w, 4x4½. Affixed to a
similarly sized index card. Craig Hartsburg (b. 1959) is a retired NHL player and coach who
played for 10 seasons with the Minnesota North Stars (1979-1989). A teammate of Wayne
Gretzky in junior hockey, Hartsburg entered the WHA as an underage free agent, but
would only play one season in the league until being drafted by the North Stars. He had a
successful NHL career, representing Canada twice at the Canada Cup, and being named
top defenseman at the IIHF World Championships (1987). He would also appear in
three NHL All-Star games in 1980, 1982, and 1983. After suffering from a persistent hip
injury, Hartsburg retired and accepted an assistant coaching position with the North Stars.
Since then, he has coached for a number of teams including the Anaheim Ducks, the Ottawa
Senators, and the Calgary Flames. Edges irregular. Corners gently worn. Toned. Otherwise,
fine condition.
